Is this the right card to game on this computer? (I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a new rig, and while building a custom pc seems pretty straight forward, I still don't want to spend that much money on it.) Also is it as simple as putting in and I'm off? I know I need PCI Express adapters for the card, since I don't have the correct pin count right now on the cables, (or whatever you call them) and I know how to install. I had no trouble installing my current card, and it gives me a boot screen since it's the Mac Edition Card.

Is something like this even worth the risk for someone with no computer knowledge? (The only knowledge I have is from watching hours of LinusTechTips, so even though I know computer parts, I know nothing about software in general.)

With a simple benchmark check, I can already tell it's a massive upgrade over the card I have now, but I have a few concerns.įirst, will I get a boot screen and is there anything I have to do to prep my computer for this upgrade? (I know absolutely nothing about computers, other than new card make computer go game faster.)(Again I'm already running Mojave.) The safest choice people have said to be is the Sapphire Pulse RX 580, but I don't know how good that is compared to some of the other models. There are different kinds of these cards, and I want performance to play games without having to even think about my fps. (Im also already running macOS Mojave, 10.14.5, since this card supports metal.)) After spending some time searching the web and asking some friends who know a little bit about graphics cards, everyone and everything have basically pointed me towards the AMD Radeon RX 580 series. As of the moment, I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2 GB installed in the computer. I've been looking into a few cards for an upgrade over the current card I have now.
